Pastoral Spotlight, Episode 7

Dear Billy’s Home Place Team,

We really don’t know where to start! We have had to pinch ourselves daily to fathom the rich history of this home, the generosity of the Thomas family, the kindeness of Mary Gaye and team, and the grace of God to extend this blessing to us, through you! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

When the Lord graciously saved me in 1985, in Central Texas, while I was at Texas A&M, I had no idea of the journey that the Lord was to lead me on - and every step of the way, the Lord has guided and blessed in such amazing way. Steve, I can’t thank you enough for your love my brother, and his family, and your generosity and kindness to Roxie and me!

After my last year in our fraternity, I was so lost and so sad, I literally wanted to die. I told God, “Just take me, I don’t want to be here!” and He took me up on that! I was born again just a few months later with a desire to be in ministry - what I now recognice as my “call” and the Lord has Shepherded Roxie and me so beautifully. In spite of suffering and loss, along with amazing victories, He has led us with His comforting rod and staff, through the dark valleys, into amazing pastures.

This has been a place of still waters and soul restoration for us, and we are so deeply thankful for the joy of being reconnected to you all and for the delight we have enjoyed this week at Billy’s Home Place.

With Deep Gratitude in Christ,

Dave and Roxie Benefield, Maron, TX
